Laguna Laguna , officially known as the   Province of Laguna  is a   province in the   Philippines , located in the  Calabarzon  Region   in   Luzon . Its capital is   Santa Cruz   and the province is situated southeast of Metro Manila , south of the province of   Rizal , west of   Quezon , north of   Batangas   and east of   Cavite . Laguna hugs the southern shores of   Laguna de Bay , the largest lake in the country.   It is one of the most progressive, historical and cultural provinces in the Philippines . Laguna is notable as the birthplace of   Jose Rizal , the country's national hero. The heart of the Philippines has such an overpoweringly and attractive destinations that magnets the adventurers and nature lovers. It has a power to arouse interest for the tourists to visit in. Marinduque is known for eminent mountains, agricultural lands and pristine islands and beaches which where can be safely to swim on and dive on. Marinduque is part of MIMAROPA region in Luzon and best known for its grandiose celebration of the Moriones Festival during the Holy Week.
